A desire for an extraordinary handmade glass bottle led Sara to Monmouth Glass and its founders Isaac Katzoff and Stephen Bradbourne. When she saw the molecule models in their studio she knew she was in the right place.

Here’s a little more on the Exhibit A x Monmouth bottle collection.

Conception

As an existing customer of Monmouth, Sara was drawn to the jewel-esque colour palette and the feel of the glass to touch. ‘No piece is identical and that lack of uniformity results in soul. But it’s still refined. My gin and tonic is different from a Monmouth glass’.

Stephen says that the Monmouth design aesthetic is intuitive and comes from experience- years of working with the glass. But Sara thinks having an eye for colour is an art in itself: this was a critical part of Exhibit A’s vision of the most beautiful glass gin bottle ever.

Taking inspiration from contemporary perfume flagons

as well as more traditional designs in Murano glass, Isaac and Stephen have really taken this brief and run with it. We think the bottles with their unique stoppers are breathtaking.

‘Nothing about these elegant designs is obvious, which I love. But still very Exhibit A. Our sphere obsession has manifested itself in another form’.

Creation

Sara says that for her, having the opportunity to watch the process of the glass being made was an education.

‘I actually had no idea of the time and skill involved in making a single bottle- over an hour and with 2 people fully hands-on! Then there are the stoppers which are incredible, weighty objects in their own right’.

Traditional techniques originating in Italy and honed over centuries are still used today at Monmouth.

Here’s a small glimpse into the making of our Rotondo blue bottle to show you.

Custom made

The Exhibit A x Monmouth designs will be available to pre-order and are custom made for each client. You’ll be able to choose either the ‘Rotondo’ or the ‘Classico’ bottle with either the ‘Obscuro’, the ‘Chess’ or the ‘Duomo’ stopper. Colours are also customisable.

These are very special pieces that are created to be on display. Tumblers to complete the perfect drinks’ experience can also be ordered.

As with all our offerings, there is no plastic, sticky labels or excess branding, it’s the pieces themselves that speak in a single voice of beauty.

We hope they’ll take your cocktail situation to a higher level.
